Data Acquisition Toolbox Support Package for National Instruments NI-DAQmx Devices provides support for CompactDAQ, X-Series, M-Series, E-Series, USB, myDAQ, ELVIS II, and many other types of data acquisition hardware from National Instruments through MATLAB and Data Acquisition Toolbox.
There are two types of interfaces for communicating with hardware: legacy and session-based. Both interfaces allow you to configure the sampling rate for your DAQ hardware, trigger the start of your data acquisition, and find and display device settings.
Depending on your application and hardware, you use either the legacy or session-based interface to communicate with the hardware:
1 For digital I/O, the session-based interface supports clocked and static acquisition and control, while the legacy interface supports only static acquisition and control.
National Instruments data acquisition hardware uses the following driver software: NI-DAQmx version 9.2 or higher and Traditional NI-DAQ version 7.3.
